Precisely here is where Lubig can help! Many companies offer machining of magnesium die casting. However, only a few offer you the production of precision turned parts from magnesium forged blanks, rod material, and pipes. This allows you to convert aluminum turned parts in your products nearly 1:1 to magnesium, without major changes to the manufacturing process or investing in expensive tools.
The specific weight for magnesium alloy AZ80 is only 1.7 kg/dm³, so when you convert a turned part made of aluminum, e.g. EN-AW 6082 at 2.7 kg/dm³, you achieve a weight reduction of 37% – and at almost the same strength.
